Field Service Management Access Hours Management allows you to define and enforce preferred time windows during which field service technicians can arrive and complete work at a customer site. Access hours ensure that work is scheduled only during times when the location, asset, or customer is available to receive service.
You can configure access hour preferences at multiple levels such as Account, Consumer, Location, Asset, or a combination like Account and Location — to match their operational needs. When a new work order task is created, the application automatically determines and applies the appropriate access hours based on the configured matching criteria. If a task is scheduled outside of the defined access hours, dispatchers are notified so they can take corrective action.
- Preferred time windows are defined on work order tasks, specifying when technicians are permitted to arrive and perform service at a customer site.
- Access hour preferences are configured at the Account, Consumer, Location, Asset, or combined Account-Location level, supporting a wide range of customer and site requirements.
- When a new work order task is created, the most appropriate access hours are assigned automatically based on configured matching rules and priority order.
- Scheduled start and end times are validated automatically against defined access hours, with alerts surfaced to dispatchers when a task falls outside permitted windows.
- Custom scripts can be defined to dynamically resolve applicable access hours for advanced scenarios, supplementing standard value-based lookups.
- Access hour levels are fully configurable with custom matching criteria and priority ordering, giving administrators control over how access hours are resolved across different task types.
