IT Operations Management (ITOM) Event Management helps IT organizations reduce noise and focus on high-priority issues. Event Management Connectors make it easier to pull or push events from external sources.
The Event Management Connector plugin ingests these events into the ServiceNow instance where Event Management then processes the events, deduplicates them, and creates actionable alerts. It performs cross-source correlation and impact analysis to provide service context for IT alerts.
-
The Event Management Connector plugin integrates with the following monitoring systems:
Push Connectors:
- Azure Monitor: Uses OAuth authentication to process Azure platform event messages; push through Instance and MID.
- Amazon CloudWatch: Uses the connector to process Amazon Web Services (AWS) alarms as events.
- BMC TrueSight: Collects JSON-formatted event messages sent from BMC TrueSight Operations Management (TrueSight).
- Catchpoint: Receives Catchpoint events which Event Management processes as ServiceNow events.
- Dynatrace: Collects JSON-formatted event messages sent from Dynatrace.
- Datadog: Collects JSON-formatted event messages sent from Datadog.
- EIF Listener: Receives EIF events which Event Management processes as ServiceNow events.
- Email: Sends email notifications when events and alerts are triggered.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Monitor: Collects JSON-formatted event messages sent from GCP; push through Instance and MID.
- Grafana Connector: Processes alerts from the Grafana visualization tool.
- Honeycomb: Receives events from the Honeycomb push connector.
- Logicmonitor: Receives JSON-formatted event messages sent from Logicmonitor and MID.
- ServiceNow Cloud Observability: Receives JSON-formatted event messages sent from ServiceNow Cloud Observability.
- New Relic: Receives JSON-formatted event messages sent from New Relic.
- Oracle Cloud: Receives JSON-formatted event messages sent from Oracle Cloud Monitoring.
- Oracle Enterprise Manager trap collection: Configures the SNMP trap connector to receive Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control SNMP traps.
- Prometheus: Receives JSON-formatted event messages sent from Prometheus.
- ScoutAPM: Receives alerts from ScoutAPM.
- Sentry: Receives Sentry events which Event Management processes as ServiceNow events.
- SNMP traps: Processes SNMP traps as events.
- ThousandEyes: Receives JSON-formatted event messages sent from ThousandEyes.

- New
- Support OAuth for Kafka Connector - Starting in version 2.17.1, you can use OAuth authentication with the Kafka connector, allowing you to securely connect and manage access without storing or sharing static credentials.
- Kafka Metric Connector - Starting in version 2.17.1, you can use the new Kafka connector to stream time-series metric data from Kafka topics into ServiceNow Metric Intelligence for real-time monitoring, anomaly detection, and alerting.
- Datadog Metric Connector - Starting in version 2.17.1, you can use the out-of-the-box Datadog metric connector to integrate Datadog metrics with ServiceNow Metric Intelligence, enabling anomaly detection, metric visualization, enrichment, and correlation of metric anomalies with events and log alerts.
- Support AWS Event connector across subscriptions - Starting in version 2.17.1, you can forward events from thousands of AWS accounts through a single aggregator account using multi-account AWS SNS event routing, reducing manual setup from 2500 configurations to one and cutting onboarding effort by up to 90%.
- Integration Launchpad pages for Dynatrace metric connector - Starting in version 2.17.1, you can use the Dynatrace metric connector from the Integration Launchpad to bring metrics from Dynatrace into ServiceNow Metric Intelligence for visualization, enrichment, dynamic thresholds, and anomaly detection.
- SCOM 2025 version support - Starting in version 2.17.1, you can now check SCOM 2025 compatibility with the current code, ensuring that the connector setup, alert collection, and Metric Intelligence data ingestion work seamlessly with the latest SCOM release. This helps maintain integration reliability, reduces configuration errors, and ensures smooth upgrade readiness.
