Cyber-attacks can be costly to businesses in a number of ways: Data loss; Operational downtime; Incident recovery; Shareholder and customer lawsuits; Regulatory fines; Reputational damage. On average, the total cost of a data breach is more than $9 million for U.S. companies, according to a 2024 study conducted by Ponemon Institute
"SecurityScorecard for IT Service Management" enables security operations teams to automatically monitor the cybersecurity risk posture for their organization with no manual effort required. When installed, the application allows security operations teams to create rules for tracking changes in their scorecard at three levels: top level score, factor level scores, and issue level findings.
Security operations teams can customize the type of incident tickets created, enabling them to focus on the type of security events they consider critical for their organization. Once rules are created, the application will continuously monitor the organization’s scorecard for changes and create ServiceNow incident tickets with the detailed information security operations teams need to resolve/refute new findings on their scorecard directly in ServiceNow incident tickets so that they can take action faster. Security Operations teams can also get direct access to their overall and factor level scores as well as a breakdown of all their active issue findings count.
SecurityScorecard supports the ServiceNow Security and Incident Response (SIR) Module within the IT Service Management app, which extends the capability of ITSM to support security specific workflows. With this module, users can now receive the detailed information needed to resolve and remediate new findings on your scorecard directly in ServiceNow SIR, automatically create ServiceNow Security Incident tickets for any changes in overall and/or factor level scores, and among other workflow improvements, monitor your company’s scorecard automatically on a daily basis with no manual effort required.
