ServiceNow Security Center is an application that consists of a set of tools designed to help organizations maintain the security of their ServiceNow deployments. Using Security Center, organizations can improve their security posture, strengthen their compliance levels, and do so with a seamless user experience.
Security Center is composed of multiple tools for different security tasks:
- Security Posture
- Overview/Security Posture: Multi-instance and single-instance security posture dashboard for admins to view their production environment and be able to view security posture information across that production instance and its sub-prod instances to understand their environment overall security posture quickly and easily.
- Security Best Practices: Allows administrators to review security best practices recommended by ServiceNow, easily identify the ones that would improve their security the most and then follow step-by-step directions to implement them quickly.
- Security Configuration
- Security Hardening: Enables administrators to understand to what extent their instance hardening configurations conforms with ServiceNow's recommendations so that they can remediate issues.
- Security Scanner: Enables administrators to scan their instance against a set of security checks to identify misconfigurations or insecure behaviors. The tools simplify the process to create different suites of checks for different purposes and analyzing the results over time.
- Security Banner Announcements: Administrators are able to view the new security issues in the instance UI when any urgent and critical security alerts occur from ServiceNow.
- Security Monitoring
- Security Metrics: Enables administrators to monitor over 65 different security metrics to identify potential security threats or insecure behaviors. Administrators can set thresholds for email notifications, visualize, and analyze the data in multiple ways, export the data, or create dashboards with the metrics that are most important to them.
- Security Event Notifications: View, manage, and analyze the default security event notification policies on your ServiceNow instance, as well as access the functionality to create custom policies. Security event notification policies enable you to create policies without needing to write code. These policies trigger notifications when users or system accounts perform actions on the Now Platform that may pose security risks. You can specify user behaviors they want to monitor and receive notifications when a policy is triggered, enabling them to remediate any issues promptly.
- Security Learning: A central repository of security resources providing easy and complete access to ServiceNow security and compliance documents, portals, and other resources.
- New
- Security Tasks allows administrators to create, prioritize, delegate and monitor progress for platform security tasks, in a unified dashboard, that are either automatically generated by the platform or manually created.
