Enterprise-Wide Deployment (EWD) provides data partitioning capabilities for Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) tables that enable organizations to separate and control record visibility across functions such as departments and business units.
Data Partitions for SPM:
Partitions introduce logical data boundaries across your SPM deployment, giving administrators precise control over which records are visible to which users. Key capabilities include:
- Scoped record visibility — Projects, demands, portfolios, programs, and their related entities are filtered at the data level, ensuring users only see records that belong to their partition.
- Role-based access control — Each partition has a dedicated role. Users and user groups are assigned to that role to gain access to data within the partition boundary.
- Flexible boundary definitions — Partition criteria can be configured to reflect your organization's structure, whether by business unit, region, function, or any other logical grouping.
- Supported workspaces — Data Partitions are supported in Project Workspace, Portfolio Planning Workspace (PPW), Strategic Planning Workspace (SPW), and Resource Management Workspace.
New:
- Partitions:
- Create and configure partitions to reflect your organization's structure, such as by business unit, region, or function.
- Assign a dedicated role to each partition so that users and user groups can only access records within the partition boundary.
- Enforce record visibility for projects, demands, portfolios, and programs at the data level, ensuring clean separation across teams within a shared SPM deployment.
- Manage partition configuration using the EWD administrator role.
