The Resource Management Workspace is designed to help Resource Managers streamline their tasks and work efficiently.
This workspace provides a centralized platform focusing on resource management, allowing you to oversee, manage, and resolve resource-related issues easily. This workspace consolidates all your resource management activities in one place—giving you a complete view of your resources and projects.
Resource Management Workspace helps you quickly allocate resources, identify conflicts, resolve issues on-demand, and collaborate with team members effectively.
As a Resource Manager, you can:
- Oversee all resources, issues, and risks with a configurable overview dashboard
- Filter resource portfolios (users) based on attributes and task
- View the work assignments of the resources such as planning items, tasks, operational work for epics, and demands
- Filter and view unassigned tasks in the lower tray
- View resource capacity and allocation details on the allocation heatmap modal
- Create, assign, reassign, unassign, and split resource assignments
- Edit allocated hours of the resource assignments using the inline editing feature
- Create and save different resource board views
- Visibility into resource assignment status (Approve, Pending, Unapproved) using the color-coded labels
- Export resource assignment data to Excel and CSV
- Chat with the task owners via Microsoft Teams
- Use Resource Finder to identify and assign the most suitable resource for an unassigned assignment.
Fixed
- You can now edit planned effort for periods without actuals, even when the editing property is disabled. Heatmap cells follow the same behavior and remain editable unless actuals exist for the period.
- Resource allocation values in Resource Management Workspace are now consistent across all filters. Previously, discrepancies could occur when a user had multiple plans on the same project.
- Starting capacity values now round correctly when a work schedule uses decimal hours, ensuring accurate display and calculations.
- The allocation modal in Resource Management Workspace now excludes pending and unapproved resource assignments from allocation calculations when the relevant property is enabled, so the summary message matches the actual assignment status.
- You can now extend a resource assignment's end date to a date before the task end date without triggering a validation error.
- Operational plan hours now update correctly when changed from Resource Management Workspace, so edits to resource assignments are reflected as expected.
- Creating a filter on a new resource card now returns results as expected. Previously, results for referenced tables could remain stuck on Searching....
- Parent resource status now accurately reflects a mix of approved and unapproved assignments, instead of incorrectly showing Pending.
- Copying a resource assignment now correctly carries over the original Resource status and Ready for review values. Previously, these fields defaulted unless they were added as grid view columns.
- Move operations now work correctly for resource assignments that have only a planning item associated with them. Previously, these operations failed because planning item dates weren't handled the same way as project and demand task dates.
- Group by parent and owner now displays accurate user- and group-level rollups, including for zero-allocation, task-based assignments. This also resolves rollup accuracy issues that could occur in non-English locales.
