The Cloud Cost Management application enables you to analyze the full range of costs associated with your cloud assets so you can identify and take action on opportunities to optimize operations and save money.
Cloud Cost Management generates detailed and readily-understood cost analytics reports that you can filter as needed. You can make meaningful cost comparisons because Cloud Cost Management normalizes your organization’s entire cloud spend.
- Rightsizing: Cloud Cost Management enables you to optimize cloud spend by identifying underused and over-provisioned assets and providing you the choice of automated or semiautomated rightsizing operations.
- Unused resources: The unused resources feature analyzes usage data to identify resources that are wasting money because they are not used. You schedule automated or semiautomated jobs to power-off or terminate the resources that you specify.
- Reservation plans: The reservation or saving plans feature recommends resources that could decrease costs by the conversion of on-demand payment plans to reservation plans. These plans are also called committed-use discounts, committed-use savings plans, or reserved instance plans.
- Business hours: You configure business hours jobs that apply your policies to identify resources that are running when they should be powered off, report them, and start and stop them on a schedule that you specify. You have the choice of automated or semiautomated operations.
- Unassigned resources: To eliminate the uncertainty associated with ownerless assets, Cloud Cost Management uses your policies to assign ownership to cloud resources and auto-update the CMDB. Spend reports now include all assets in your cloud infrastructure.
- Budgets: To manage your cloud spend, you can define and monitor custom budget plans. Cloud Cost Management compares the plans with billing data to calculate and monitor how well budgets are being met. Forecast reports and dynamic alerts enable teams to take proactive steps to avoid overspending. Understanding budget compliance by groups and service accounts can significantly improve oversight and reduce cloud spend.
Each feature is fully integrated with ServiceNow Change Management application.
