The purpose of this application is to electronically manage assets assigned to organization employees by enabling users to verify their assigned assets and by enabling the Assets Team to track organization assets by user, location and department. The application has been designed to simplify your organization’s assets management and the related tedious work involved in it.
The application offers a user-friendly interface on portal for Assets Team as well as individual users with a personalized view of their assigned assets.
The purpose of the Asset Management mobile applications is to extend the web based store application 'My Assets Validation' and provide flexibility for regular users and asset team members to use features from the main application in the mobile app.
1. ‘Assets Audit’ page is dedicated for the Assets Team and it enables them to track and manage organization’s assets
2. ‘Disputed Assets’ page is dedicated for the Assets Team and it enables them to track disputes submitted by users
3. ‘My Assets’ page is a personalized employee view which enables users to certify or dispute assets assigned to them.
4. 'Asset Validation Kick Off '- Allows Asset Team to initiate asset validation in their organization. The kick off sends an email requiring users to verify their assigned assets in the portal and it can be performed by groups, departments, locations or all across the organization.
5. Application Properties - Allow Asset Team or application admin to set application properties such as:
- Select the Assignment Group that asset incidents will be routed to when assets are disputed or additional assets are reported
- Specify the Certification Due Date to define the Asset Validation cycle
- Specify the point of contact email address that will be displayed in email notifications sent from portal pages
- Check the Reset Validation state checkbox to require users to validate their assigned assets every time an asset is assigned to another user.
- Resolve incident when a disputed asset has been certified by the asset team (new feature in v1.0.5)
6. Assets Validation (mobile app) is available and integrated on the ServiceNow Now Mobile app (for end users). Enables users to view their own assigned assets and verify or dispute them using the mobile phone.
7. Asset Management (mobile app) is available on the ServiceNow Agent (for Asset Team members). Enables you to scan asset tags using your mobile device’s camera and search for assets using the advanced search filter. Now you can easily locate and edit assets using your mobile phone.

View all assets in one convenient portal page
Filter assets by asset tag, assigned to, model category, model, serial number, state, certified state, date and more
Easily verify or dispute assets
Contact employee from within the portal page for further inquiries
View the last certified date by the user and whether the verification date has expired or not
Asset Validation Kick Off - Allows Asset Team to initiate asset validation in their organization.
View a list of all Assets certification history from UI16
Update (accurate, complete, standardized) asset records in Asset table and the CMDB
Identify missing IT equipment
Identify of lost and stolen assets and initiation of the Lost and Stolen process (as necessary)
In version 1.1.8 we have added the following features:

- Asset Validation Kickoff - Send reminders only for unvalidated assets:
When an asset validation reminder is sent from the kick off record, users who have already validated their assets won’t receive the notification. Before this enhancement, all users used to get the email notification regardless if they have already validated the assets or not. - Enhanced Assets search abilities in the Kickoff page - You can now use the AND / OR parameters to combine between Group/Location/Department and/or the advanced encoded search query
- Redirect to login page if user is idle (logged out): If user is idle for more than what is specified in properties (e.g. 20 minutes) user should be redirected to the login page.
