Overview
The WIN Platform provides the coordination layer that connects shared healthcare information to the people and organizations responsible for acting on it.
Built on ServiceNow HCLS the WIN Platform uses healthcare events and clinical information to initiate, inform and coordinate work across organizational boundaries. Participating organizations can continue operating within their own systems and processes while the WIN helps connect the activities, events, information and workflows required to fulfill their respective responsibilities.
Who Benefits
-
State and program sponsors coordinating initiatives that depend on multiple organizations working together to achieve shared program goals and outcomes.
-
Healthcare organizations, provider networks, community-based organizations and social care organizations that share responsibility for people whose needs span multiple organizations.
-
Regional and multi-organization networks responsible for coordinating activities, responsibilities and outcomes across participating organizations.
Key Capabilities
-
Turn shared information into coordinated action: Use healthcare events and clinical information to initiate work across participating organizations when action is required.
-
Connect work across organizational boundaries: Route work according to the organizations, teams and roles responsible for different activities within a shared population or program.
-
Bring relevant information into the work: Retrieve clinical information from registered FHIR backends when a workflow requires additional context for action or decision-making.
-
Support shared governance and accountability: Apply roles, permissions, and administrative controls while supporting visibility into work occurring across participating organizations.
-
Configure around the population: Reuse WIN infrastructure to support capability packages designed around the requirements, participants and desired outcomes of a particular population or program.
How It Fits Within WIN
The WIN Platform provides the shared coordination infrastructure beneath WIN products and Capability Packages. Capability Packages configure that infrastructure around the needs of a specific population or program, connecting the organizations, information and activities required to support it.
- Event Bus: inbound/outbound event logs, scripted REST API, and subscribers with deduplication, claiming, and monitoring
- HCLS Foundation integration: built on the HCLS Foundation Data Model (com.snc.hcls, minimum version 11.5.0) — references Organization, Patient, Encounter, and Case data;
extends the HCLS task model for care-event work - WIN workspace + dashboard: a dedicated, configurable WIN workspace (/now/win/home) and WIN Admin Dashboard that install with the app
- WIN FHIR Broker: Flow Designer spoke actions and REST Message to query any WIN-compliant FHIR backend over OAuth 2.0 (no IntegrationHub dependency)
- Secure external-app launch: one-time, short-TTL nonce with patient context and no PHI in the URL
- Base RBAC and shared script includes (WINEventBus, WINIntegrationUtils)
