About authID®
authID® (Nasdaq: AUID) ensures enterprises “Know Who’s Behind the DeviceTM” for every user login and transaction. authID's patented biometric identity platform offers user-friendly, best-in-class 700ms authentication time with the highest accuracy and data privacy protection. authID empowers customers to stop fraud at every stage of the user’s digital journey – including onboarding, login, account takeover attempts, payments, and wire transfers – and increase conversions by eliminating password risks, detecting and stopping deepfake attacks, and providing a secure, frictionless user experience.
Why authID & ServiceNow
authID’s integration with ServiceNow empowers companies to stop fraud at the call center or help desk with its Proof (identity verification) and Verified (biometric authentication) solutions. authID significantly improves security and efficiency in call centers by addressing key authentication challenges in customer service environments. Plus, in environments where call center staff work remotely, authID’s cloud-based, passwordless authentication provides an additional security layer by ensuring only verified agents can access systems, thus safeguarding sensitive customer data from unauthorized access.
How authID Proof works?
During initial account creation, Proof identity verification captures and validates a customer’s ID document and live facial image, ultimately creating a biometric 'root of trust' that ensures only authorized users can call in for account access.
How authID Verified works?
For ongoing identity verification, authID Verified biometric authentication allows callers to authenticate using a live selfie that matches their existing profile, which is processed instantly for liveness and accuracy without storing biometric data.
Benefits
- Biometric authentication — Verify caller identity in under a second using a live selfie matched against a trusted biometric credential, with a 1 in 1 billion false match rate.
- Document verification — Prompt callers to scan a government-issued ID document via SMS, email, or a manually delivered URL, and receive a real-time pass/fail decision.
- Location-aware document types — Document type options are automatically filtered based on the caller's configured location, ensuring agents only see the IDs relevant to that region (e.g., Aadhaar and PAN Card for India, Drivers License and Passport for the UK).
- PrivacyKey authentication — Silently verify returning callers using a previously enrolled PrivacyKey, with automatic fallback to document verification when no credential is found.
- Microsoft EntraID actions — After successful identity verification, agents can perform privileged account actions directly from the incident ticket: Password Reset, MFA Reset, and Temporary Access Pass (TAP) generation.
- Configurable MFA reset hold period — Prevent MFA resets on accounts with recently changed passwords using a configurable day threshold, reducing insider threat and social engineering risk.
- Intelligent name matching — Automatically compares the name on the verified document against the caller's system-of-record name using fuzzy matching, phonetics, and nickname equivalence to reduce false rejections.
- Flexible delivery — Send the verification request via SMS, work email, personal email, or generate a one-time URL for manual delivery.
- Audit trail — Verification results and decisions are automatically written to the incident work notes and comments for compliance and review.
This release brings important upgrades to the Proof, Verified, and PrivacyKey products, enhancing user guidance, expanding language support, and strengthening security and configurability across workflows.
New: Location-aware document verification — Document types presented to agents during identity verification are now dynamically driven by the caller's location. Administrators configure allowable document types directly on the location record in ServiceNow, enabling region-specific verification workflows without any code changes. If no location is configured, the dialog falls back to the standard document type list automatically.
ServiceNow account with an active instance (Washington DC release or later recommended)
authID tenant — Sign up at the authID portal after installing the app. Contact authID Sales to provision your tenant.
authID API Key and API Secret — Generated in the authID portal and entered during app configuration in ServiceNow.
Microsoft EntraID tenant (required for Password Reset, MFA Reset, and TAP features only) — A configured REST Message integration with appropriate Microsoft Graph API permissions (UserAuthenticationMethod.ReadWrite.All, User.ReadWrite.All).
Other Requirements:ServiceNow network access to authID API endpoints (outbound HTTPS).
The Location field must be populated on customer_contact records to enable location-aware document type filtering. The cmn_location record must have a DocumentTypes list field (u_documenttypes) configured with the applicable document choices for that region.
Caller's email address on the incident must match the email on the corresponding customer_contact record.
Agents must have access to the authID UI Actions on the Incident form (controlled via ServiceNow roles).
