ServiceNow Cowork is an AI coworker that runs on your machine and gets done work for you. It plans, executes, and retries multi-step tasks across email, calendar, Teams, files, code repositories, and ServiceNow. Because it carries context from one system to the next, work moves forward without manual handoffs.
Employees are already adopting powerful AI agents often without IT visibility. Cowork gives organizations a governed way to say yes. Every action runs in an isolated sandbox on the user's device, and every client registers with ServiceNow AI Control Tower at install. Admins set one policy for models, connectors, sandbox configuration, and permitted actions. Users choose what works for them within those boundaries, and any action that carries high risk actions pause for human approval.
Cowork works across model families and is model-flexible, so organizations aren't locked in to a single model family. It also keeps a standing memory that each user shapes over time.
- End-to-end task completion: Completes multi-step work across files, repos, collaboration tools, and ServiceNow, with standing memory of what it has done and what comes next.
- Enterprise connectors: Out-of-the-box connectors for ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, GitHub, plus support for any MCP endpoint. Every connector call is checked against policy first.
- Skills and scheduled tasks: Includes 25 skills. Users can create, version, and share their own skills and schedule tasks to run on a routine.
- Secure local sandbox: Actions run in an isolated sandboxes such as Nvidia's OpenShell MicroVM with allowlisted network egress.
- Layered policy guardrails: Tool gates, approval patterns (human-in-the-loop), sandbox and network rules, and capability flags per user group.
- Fleet management in AI Control Tower: Includes auto-registration, a live view of installed devices and active sessions, policy by user criteria, and a kill switch that works in real time.
- Session observability: Quality and safety scoring per session, the ability to drill down from a score to the failing tool call, cost per user and connector, and traces built on OpenTelemetry GenAI conventions..
- Model flexibility: Works with models from multiple providers, so there's no lock in to a single model family.
