Flexera One app for IT Visibility (Version 1.7)
This release introduces the following new features and bug fixes:
New Features and Enhancements:
1. Added support for Product-type Technopedia models in software model creation.
- We now support the creation of software models for Technopedia Product type entries.
- These are created using data from the Software Technopedia Service.
- Software models with the Product type in technopedia will now be treated as Product software models in ServiceNow.
2. Enabled import of Discovered attributes via new "Extended Pack" property.
- Introduced a new import property: 'Enable Software Inventory Extended Pack'.
- When enabled, the import process will fetch and map the following attributes from the ITV API (servicenow_software_inventory_extended) from Delta job:
- Discovered Manufacturer → Discovered Publisher
- Discovered Product → Discovered Product
- Discovered Version → Discovered Version
- Version + Build→ Full Version (Additional Column)
- These mappings are applied to the Software Discovery Model table for enhanced reporting and classification.
Performance: - When enabled, this option will populate three discovery fields within the dataset. Enabling this option will have a performance impact on data ingestion. Specifically, activating this feature increases the size of delta files, as any change in the discovered evidence will result in additional delta records. This may lead to larger delta ingestions as evidence changes, potentially extending processing times as those records are ingested.
- For customers who do not require this extended dataset, we recommend keeping the option disabled to ensure optimal ingestion performance due to smaller delta sizes. Customers who do require this additional information can enable the option, understanding that it may lead to increased delta data and ingestion time due to the broader data scope.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed class switch issue affecting Virtual Machine CI records.
- Resolved an issue where Virtual Machine records were incorrectly classified due to a class switch issue during CI import transformation.
- The class change logic has been refined to properly handle virtual CI classification rules.
Pre-Requisites:
The new property 'Enable Software Inventory Extended Pack' must be configured in the Import Settings for Discovered attributes from API.
Ensure correct token and endpoint configurations are set up to fetch ITV API data.
Post-Deployment Verification:
Validate new product-type models are classified correctly in the Software Model table.
Confirm discovered software fields (DiscoveredPublisher, DiscoveredProduct, DiscoveredVersion) are populated from the API.
Test a sample Virtual Machine record to confirm proper classification and CMDB alignment.
