This release introduces the following new features and resolved issues:
Feature Highlights- Added support for Product-type Technopedia models in software model creation
- We now support the creation of software models for Technopedia Product-type entries.
- These are created using data from the Software Technopedia Service.
- Software models with the Product type in Technopedia are now treated as Product software models in ServiceNow.
- Enabled import of Discovered attributes via new Extended Pack property
- Introduced a new import property: Enable Software Inventory Extended Pack.
- When the new import property is enabled, the import process fetches and maps the following attributes from the IT Visibility API (servicenow_software_inventory_extended) :
- Discovered Manufacturer → Discovered Publisher
- Discovered Product → Discovered Product
- Discovered Version → Discovered Version
- Version + Build → Full Version (Additional Column)
- These mappings are applied to the Software Discovery Model table for enhanced reporting and classification.
- With Enable Software Inventory Extended Pack enabled, customers will see a performance impact during data ingestion because the import is populating three new fields (Discovered Publisher, Discovered Product, and Discovered Version). Specifically, enabling this option increases the size of Delta files, as any change in the discovered evidence will result in additional Delta records. This may lead to larger Delta ingestions as evidence changes—potentially extending processing times as those records are ingested.
- Recommendations:
- If your organization does not require the extended dataset, avoid enabling this new import property to preserve optimal performance.
- If your organization does require the extended dataset, enable this new import property understanding that it may lead to increased Delta data and ingestion time due to the broader data scope.
- Fixed class switch issue affecting Virtual Machine CI records
- Addressed an issue where Virtual Machine configuration item (CI) records were misclassified due to a class switch during CI import transformation.
- Refined the class change logic within the Scoped App to prevent class switching on Hardware CIs.
- Implementing this safeguard may have introduced a minor performance impact, which is being monitored and optimized further.
- New CI class mapping rule for Virtual Machine hardware
- Implemented a new configuration item (CI) class mapping rule to ensure accurate categorization and alignment with CMDB best practices.
- The new mapping rule correctly classifies hardware records with the subcategory Virtual Machines.
- Fixed Export API version compatibility with IT Visibility
- In this version, support for both v1 and v2 has been added to the Scripted REST API for exporting data from ServiceNow to IT Visibility, with v1 set as the default to ensure backward compatibility.
The new property Enable Software Inventory Extended Pack must be configured in the Import Settings for Discovered attributes from the API.
Ensure correct token and endpoint configurations are set up to fetch IT Visibility API data.
(Note: These prerequisites apply specifically to the Extended Pack and may already be configured for existing Flexera One App installations.)
Post-Deployment Verification- Validate that new Product-type models are classified correctly in the Software Model table.
- Confirm discovered software fields (Discovered Publisher, Discovered Product, Discovered Version) are populated from the API.
- Test a sample Virtual Machine record to confirm proper classification and CMDB alignment.
To ensure optimal performance during CI import jobs, it is strongly recommended to always enable the following import properties:
- Insert Hardware CIs – Required for Computers
- Update Hardware CIs – Required for Computers
These settings are critical for efficiently processing hardware configuration items and supporting related services such as software inventory and network adapters.
Failure to enable these options can lead to significant performance impact, increasing processing time and reducing overall efficiency of CI import jobs. Enabling them ensures faster execution and smoother operation of dependent processes.
Known LimitationsSupport for Network Adapter CIs with Virtual Machine hardware subcategory is out of scope for this release.
- These records will be ignored during processing.
- Support for this scenario is a deferred feature planned for a future update.
