Australia Patch 1, Australia, Zurich, Yokohama
Standalone Application
Foundation Data Sync (FDS) enables the structured, periodic sharing of data from provider to consumer instances. It ensures that consumers have access to accurate, up-to-date foundational data from providers, supporting better service delivery and operational alignment.
FDS is a data synchronization mechanism that enables a provider instance to share foundational data with consumer instances on a scheduled basis, such as daily, weekly, or monthly.
FDS supports all CMDB tables and the following non-CMDB tables: Asset, Company, User, Group, Location, Department, Stockroom, Product Model, Knowledge, Hardware Model, Consumable Model, Hardware, and Consumable.
- Create and Publish an Offering: Define the data that you, as a provider want to share with the Service Exchange consumer.
- Receive and manage a Offering Request: Customers with Foundation Data Sync for Consumers can request that offering from their ServiceNow instance.
- Refine, Validate, and Send the data with Subscription Items: Once requested, Foundation Data Sync will pre-generate the subscription items defined in the offering, which can then be filtered further by the provider if desired. When ready, a provider can then test and validate the data sharing before sending in full.
