Standalone Application
Strategic Portfolio Management - Centralized interface to manage and track financials. Financials Core is an internal application built on the base of the 'Investment Funding' application to enable Financial Planning of execution and strategic work entities in a generic model. Financials Core also contains the code base for the Investment Funding application which supports the capabilities to add and allocate funds for Pro customers.
- Financial planning functionality for Demands, Projects, and Epics as part of Project Workspace and Strategic Planning Workspace
- Create financial baselines and compare the financials between baselines to track and analyze the changes in financials for Demands, Projects, and Epics
- Add and allocate funds to investment entities using the Investment Funding application for Pro customers
New
- You can now save your preferred timescope selection on the Financials tab of the project workspace. By default, the system retains the selected timescope for up to 50 recently accessed projects, and admins can raise this limit to up to 200 projects. When you return to a project, your previously selected timescope is restored automatically.
- Admins can now use a guided setup for financials configuration in Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). The Implementation Accelerator walks admins through configuring labor cost plans, labor cost types, budget allocation, financial baselines, currency settings, investment object linkage, cost plan breakdown rollups, and fiscal calendar settings.
- You can now view in-context help for key financial fields on the Financials page. Info icons next to each field explain calculations such as planned cost, budget, estimate at completion (EAC), Return, ROI, and NPV directly within each widget.
Changed
- Inline editing performance in the financials cost and benefit grid is improved. When you edit and save a single row, only that row refreshes instead of the entire grid. The edited row is locked from further changes until the save completes. This applies to both month and year timescales.
- Project managers and planning item owners can now recalculate planned cost and benefit values based on updated budget reference rates. A new menu option lets you recalculate all relevant breakdowns at once, with confirmation dialogs and loading overlays to show progress. The previous Recalculate resource cost action is now hidden to avoid duplicate functionality.
Fixed
- Total budget on projects now recalculates correctly when investment budget records are deleted or updated.
- Multicurrency setup in the project workspace now updates automatically and accurately.
- Investment record linkage in cost plans and planning items is now consistent across all projects.
- Converting a demand to a project no longer clears cost in investment currency values.
- The financials console in the Project Workspace no longer has limitations related to time scope and fiscal range selection.
